Financial Fundamentals - Monthly Annual Reporting


This course examines the legislation, organisation and accounting principles that apply to Local Government accounting, including taxation principles.
The course covers the accounting process, financial reporting responsibilities and annual financial report process.

Topics covered within the course will include the legislative framework for Local Government accounting; classification of transactions; managing the accounting function; monthly and annual financial reporting responsibilities; and preparation of annual financial report.

Please note - Participants are required to bring a laptop as two exercises will require the use of Microsoft Excel (for data input only).

A necesary course for Local Government Officers who need to increase their knowledge of the Local Government financial management, reporting and budgeting process.
